Los Angeles, Feb 20 - 22 A three-day game jam for high schoolers, with all your favorite YouTubers

How It Works

From December 21st to February 16th, you and your friends spend 30 to 60 hours making games and winning prizes like $100 Steam publishing licenses, Hack Club / Open Sauce merch, and more!

Along the way you can join our community, befriend other teenagers interested in game development, learn from workshops, and take part in AMAs with published game developers.

After you finish, you'll fly out to Los Angeles with 150 other teens for a three-day in-person game jam full of minigames and challenges, with all your favorite creators. We're providing travel grants!

Who's Gonna Be There?

FAQ

What's a game jam?

A game jam is an event where you build a game from scratch. It's about teamwork, creativity, having fun, and learning new things.

Who can participate?

Campfire Flagship is open to anyone 13-18, regardless of skill level.

All this for free? Is this legit?

Yup, all for free! Hack Club is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and we've run a bunch of events like this in the past.

What if my parents are concerned?

We're here to help! Feel free to reach out to flagship@campfire.hackclub.com and we'd love to answer questions or hop on a call. We'll also be releasing a parent's guide slightly further down the road.

I'm not good at coding / I've never made games before. Can I still participate?

Yes, we want you to! This game jam is for all skill levels. We'll be running workshops and support calls to help everyone learn together.

What can I make?

Any kind of game is allowed–platformers, puzzlers, visual novels, clicker games–anything!

What do you mean by "30 - 60 hours?"

There will be a ton of chances to lower your requirement to attend. Attending workshops, lock-in calls, and AMAs will all boost your progress. On top of that, if you put effort into your games and other people think they're cool, you'll progress even faster! No matter what, 60 hours will be enough for a ticket.

Have more questions? Email us at flagship@campfire.hackclub.com, or if you're a teenager, feel free to ask in the #campfire-flagship channel in the Hack Club Slack!
